The Webfooted Astronomer - September 1999
Six-inch f/8 Optical Tube Assembly. No mount. Optically perfect, but was a factory "defect" because the primary is placed too far up the tube (so the focuser must be racked all the way out to achieve focus) and because tube side mounts are rotated wrong (the eyepiece is horizontal instead of tilted up toward observer). Effort needed to fix these problems is drill seven holes and relocate hardware. I've been intending to build a Dob base for this for two years, but have finally realized I don't have the time or tools.
Perfect for the ATM- modify the tube and build a base, or just take the optics and build your own scope! First $100 takes it, or make me an offer. Pat Newton, email@example.com
